PoRTFOLIO

Inspired by the human condition and executed with substantial clarity of intent, Anna's work is the embodiment of internal order and balance set against a chaotic world that is purposely left wanting for attention. The characters in her figurative paintings are often suspended in solid color as though utterly unconcerned by what goes on around them or else enveloped in the vapors of their own thoughts and inner workings. At once playful and direct her paintings are infused with socio-political overtones and modern charm.

Born in the Ukraine and raised in Israel, Anna Fleshler learned first hand about reality's subjectivity based on where one comes from while at the same time benefiting from a multi-cultural perspective on life. Formerly Beth Kelly's studio assistant, Anna received her BA in Theater & Design from SUNY Geneseo where under the tutelage of Steven Stubblefield she acquired an appreciation for texture and Japanese culture. She freelanced as a headshot photographer before returning to multi-media painting and taking up songwriting.

Anna continually produces new work and welcomes private commissions and opportunities to showcase her work to the public.

ANNA FLESHLER
Visualizing success in a way that does not visualize obstacles

"My work is part whimsy and part intent. Some elements exist only in my mind and need to be carefully shaped in order to exist outside of it and others are found and taken from reality and are perfect the way they are. The overall effect is that of a dance of intents and happy accidents."
